I was very impressed with Padraic Cawley's role as a celebrant.
He could not have been more helpful, efficient, empathetic, discreet, and understanding. He took such trouble for us, coming to the house to go over the ceremony with us. He conducted the ceremony with great dignity and respect and absorbed so much information about my deceased husband and spoke very eloquently about Him. It was a very difficult time for us but he made everything as easy as possible.
Afterward, he contacted me several times to see how I was and produced a commemoration booklet for us.
All my family and friends were very impressed with him too.
I would certainly recommend a civil ceremony to others, especially if it was to be conducted by Padraic. The interview was at a time convenient to me and Padraic handled it with great sensitivity.
I can’t say enough about Padraic and the way he handled what was a very sudden and unexpected loss of my Dad. Padraic showed great empathy, particularly to my Mam, and was very good at listening, getting an overall sense of my Dad and making suggestions at the appropriate time. He also contacted me following the initial meeting to ensure all was correct and appropriate and even checked out particular music for us. A number of people at the funeral have since expressed how well Padraic facilitated the service and that ‘they would now think about it for themselves’! Indeed, many of them thought Padraic knew my Dad personally. I can’t thank Padraic enough for the way he managed everything and indeed his follow up phone call to me well after the funeral.
Padraic did a great job – he gave the impression he had all the time in the world for us and went to a lot of trouble over the narrative for the ceremony, and also sent me a little memorial afterwards, which was a good idea. I would ask for him again (hopefully not to soon!).
Padraic was extremely helpful at this very sad and sensitive time for me and my family. He was at the end of the phone or email if I had any concerns over the few days of organising the Funeral Service. He also sent me a copy of the service that I can send to my brother in Australia. Everything went very well on the day and I will always be grateful for all the help from Padraic
